On Friday I had blood taken out to be checked for cholesterol, diabetes, etc.
Friday night I felt extremely dizzy, lightheaded, everything looked dark and I had pressure on my chest. I was about to pass out.
I got taken to the hospital where they performed an EKG, they checked my blood for any blood clots and I had X rays done.
I had a tranquilizer injected. I felt a little better. But on the weekend I was feeling very very tired! I still felt a little lightheaded and felt like I was going to pass out every few minutes.
On Monday I went to my doctor and she told me I had high cholesterol (282). I started getting that pressure on my chest again and I couldn’t breathe, they injected another tranquilizer.
Ever since then I have been having trouble breathing. I feel like I breathe too slow.
Could tranquilizers make me feel this way.
I’m still feeling tired and lightheaded.
Could this still be anxiety? I’m kinda worried It could be something else because I’m still having symptoms…
No rude answers please

I don’t want to sound stupid, but I’ve been in the emergency room 5 times within the last month for symptoms similar to heart attack. The first few times the doctors didn’t even want to look at me and told me that I was having panic attacks. Just the other day I was deeply in pain again and went and they did ekg x rays and all that. They said I was fine. I don’t understand. The pain has to be coming from somewhere. I don’t have a regular doctor because I don’t have insurance and can’t get none for at least four weeks. The pain is getting worse even though I’m trying to eat right… I’m 29 years old and watched my 22 year old cousin die of a heart attack so I know it can happen to me. The doctors aren’t doing a thorough search I believe… What should I say the next time I go in if there is a next time?

Hi,
I was having symptoms of an anxiety/panic attack or a heart attack. I couldn’t tell so I went to the ER and they prescribed me Zoloft and told me I was having an anxiety attack. I do have a history of panic/anxiety attacks but this time the ER did not do a chest x-ray, etc. but only listened to my heart with a stethoscope and measured my blood pressure and oxygen levels.
Can they tell at the ER if one is having a heart attack vs. an anxiety/panic attack without carrying out tests like x-rays?
Thanks!

I have been having a lot of physical health issues lately (numbness/weakness in limbs, chest discomfort, trouble breathing, visual disturbances, etc.). I’ve had blood work, x-rays, CT scan, MRI, seen a neurologist… no one can find any thing wrong physically. My doctor insists that all my symptoms are related to stress/anxiety and wants me to see either a psychiatrist or a psychologist. So my questions are: Will seeing either really be able to help with these physical symptoms? Which would be better to see in my case?
