WHAT IS IT? I really dont know what to call it anymore.

And I need help with this, because this has been happening for a long time now (about 2-3 years) and i’m about to go on Meds because I cant take the anxiety anymore. I even asked for a few days out of school and even the assistant principle let me out, because My grades started droppinh due to this problem with the ‘eyes’ and my anxiety thats it gotten so bad in school. People think that ‘im shy’ but i just tend to introvert because i feel so nervous! i mean they dont know how i feel! i get nauseaus, tightness in the chest and stomach pain….and this is like almost everyday, especially in school. Im about to be a senior in high school so i have to battle this anxiety with the Eye phobia and anxiety because I want live a normal life and I dont have any friends due to this stupid thing taking over my life.
I am getting the help do, i started going to psychologists, for the past 6 months and to a psychiatrist/and therapist. I am going to get medicine because I get too nervous, and I need to be fine as I am about to be a singer and probably sign a contract. I will be meeting alot of people so i really need to be better and battle this anxiety with time. please help me.

DO you know what this eye fixation/phobia is and ways that it starts??? Did anyone ever hear of it? It’s like i look at a persons eye and feel extremely uncomfortable, and i cant look away. it’s like as soon as I look at people, i just look into their eyes rather then their face and this has caused me so much anxiety and ive isolated myself alot from people because i cant tell they feel very anxious too as it looks like im staring at them…but i really dont want my eyes to do this anymore!!!

do you think my bad social anxiety started with this problem with the eyes?? Because both things started about the same time.

THANKS! HELP ME
My life has been like hell for the past 3 years. I pray to God alot though, because I need that strength.

I REALLY NEED TO KNOW WHATS UP WITH MY EYES< WHY DO I DO THIS??
i think people with anxiety alone can stand this, but this eye phobia and fixations really makes it unbereable for me. I cant even look at people anymore and i look from my sides, because i get so nervous. I hate it. ;(
**I lose Focus too with everything I do. *** just so you know.

Hi,

I’m 21 years old and am known to be prone to anxiety within the last few years. Over the past week I have been noticing weird feelings on the left side of my chest. I usually get a concentrated (one spot) feeling of heaviness in my left shoulder-blade, which sometimes can be felt in the right one as well (it is kind of tingling but not numb). I have also had slight pains in the left chest closer to the side of the body rather than towards the middle. And I have also experienced slight pain in my left arm. About twice a day I get a quick shooting pain up the left side of my neck which goes away very quickly. If I think about it too much I get slight shortness of breath and tightness in the chest. I seem to be thinking about it all the time and therefore I feel discomfort in the left chest very often. I feel anxious because of this problem as well which probably does not help issues. I also get lightheaded sometimes. I had an anxiety attack about 2 years ago and have been more prone to anxiety related feelings ever since. It seems as though I am feeling anxious all the time now ever since these symptoms started appearing.

I weight-lifted yesterday and the symptoms did not seem to get worse (they might have gotten a bit better.) Today I went to yoga and I thought that would help with the situation but all I could think about during yoga is if I am having a heart attack or not.

Does this sound like a possible heart attack or do you think it is just anxiety related? Any words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!
Also, I don’t have a rapid heartbeat all the time but if I start thinking too much and worrying if it is indeed a heart attack I do get a faster heartbeat and sweaty palms.

Hi,

I have been suffering anxiety for a good 5 years now on and off. My latest episode has been me worrying about having a heart attack. I had a chest x-ray, blood work and an ECG done and everything was normal (this was about a month ago). However, I feel this pressure/tightness in the chest pretty much the whole day. I keep worrying that it might be a heart attack. If I had tests done about a month ago, is there any chance that my current chest discomfort is heart attack-related?

How does chest discomfort differ between anxiety and heart attack? Given my case, should I be worried? I have given the thought of going to the ER but my rational side thinks that that would be a waste.

Thanks!

Hi,

Ever since Sunday afternoon I have been having this thought that I am having a heart attack. I have a history of panic/anxiety. However, I am having a hard time convincing myself that it is just anxiety. I have had symptoms such as left arm pain, chest pain, tightness in the chest and throat, shortness of breath, dizziness bouts etc.

I went to the ER and all they did was ask about my history, listen to my heart, take vitals and oxygen levels. No EKGs or Chest X-Rays or anything like that. They said my symptoms were due to anxiety and gave me Zoloft.

Right now (about 4 days after the symptoms started), I am sitting here with tightness in chest and throat and a shortness of breath. Is this really just anxiety? I keep trying to convince myself it is but I am having a very hard time.

If it was heart related, since I started experiencing symptoms about 4 days ago, would the symptoms have gotten a lot worse?

Thanks!
Nope, no blood test was done. I was puzzled as to why they didn’t do any testing really but I guess I was an obvious anxiety case?

I have been to the doctor and have been diagnosed as having anxiety. They put me on xanax, I don’t think it works that great….but I get alot of tightness in the chest and I just can’t seem to relax. I do not want to take any medications for this. What kinds of things do you do to help you relax????

I’m having an anxiety attack right now and it’s different from all the others I’ve had so I have no idea of how to deal with it.

I feel scared
I feel that nervousness/excitedness before a big event
but mostly
i feel scared.

But the thing is
I HAVE NO IDEA WHY I’M FEELING LIKE THIS
so i have no way to defuse it and say oh, this is stupid, because I don’t know what’s causing it.
What should I do?

Also, does anyone know what causes the tightness in the chest during anxiety/panic attacks?
