Hello, I have been many years in treatment for panic attacks. I have been fine for almost 5 years. Low dosis of clonazepam 0.25mg a day and paroxetine 10mg daily too. I have been exposed to many stress lately and anticipatory anxiety of reviving my panic attacks with agoraphobia are making me experience again some micro panic situations with frequent anxiety. I came to my shrink and he prescribed me Seroquel. I am very insecure with the prescription. Any way the dose is very low 12.5mg a day. I am sweating more than normal but maybe meanwhile my body gets accustomed to the pill it should be like that. What should I do? Seek a second opinion? or should I keep on testing Seroquel?

I personally don’t want to be doped up on prescription medications… Those are chemically altered drugs and are far more dangerous than marijuana… So i must ask… Is marijuana a legitimate way to calm down a person’s mind when they are having a panic episode in which they are having trouble staying still, having thousands of thoughts rushing through their head at one time, and having trouble maintaining a stable breathing pattern? It seems that since i started smoking weed when it happens, i’m much calmer… of course a big hit will make me hardly able to stand but it does relieve my stress… and don’t get onto me with this "drugs are bad" routine… marijuana is a plant, not a drug… unlike some prescriptions… and i live in a med-weed state… so is it an approved method to treat high spectrum autistic panic attacks with weed?
it stops my hyper-ventilating, shakes and twitches, and the flood of thoughts… it puts me in the here and now…. i don’t do it to get high… i do it to calm my mind….
cathy… it CAN… does not mean it WILL… besides it actually stops the stuff… and it’s actually calming down… i don’t even smoke to get high… of course i do anyways XD but still… it stops my panic… and i am starting to panic less and less… in fact i only smoke about a bowl or two a month… tops…
choco… you obviously don’t understand asperger’s syndrome…
DAMN IT!! sheesh… please at least talk from a standpoint at which you look at my case to see what i’m trying to get at? i just want to know if from what you see, is this helpful… i’ve done all the meditation and i’ve done prescriptions… none of it works… but this does….
star… how can you say it didn’t TRIGGER it? some people have the issue underlying until it’s brought to the surface somehow… that’s what happened to my ex… she had the makings for schizophrenia and didn’t show symptoms till she was 10… and that’s when something traumatic happened… it triggered her schizophrenia… so maybe marijuana can trigger underlying issues… and treat ones on the surface…

i have chest pain even when i dont have anxiety. fear or stress seems to add to it, but i also get something when i’m relaxed, just walking along. i am under treatment for panic attacks, and this takes away any ‘anxiety’ but i still have chest pains, which cause the muscles in my left shoulder and left side of my head to spasm and i throw up. what could this be?

I am already diagnosed with Anxiety/Panic attacks and getting medicine the 28th, (it’s horable..it happens in classes at school), and my therapist said Depression as well.

I also noticed that there was something called Compulsive Picking Disorder — I cannot stop PICKING at my scalp! It causes dandruff and I swear my hair has thinned because of it — I’ve been doing it for years almost every night.
+ More then 3 years (even more I think) I swear my nose is very huge and I critcize my shape & size of my nose, my height and my hair (how thin it is) and I can’t stop. I think I have Body Dysmorphic Disorder.

THESE are what the symptoms are(and what I feel)
* Being preoccupied with minor or imaginary physical flaws, usually of the skin, hair, and nose, such as acne, scarring, facial lines, marks, pale skin, thinning hair, excessive body hair, large nose, or crooked nose.
* Having a lot of anxiety and stress about the perceived flaw and spending a lot

PLEASE HELP WHATS WRONG WITH ME?!

I’m pretty healthy for a person my age (40s)…but in the last six months, I’ve been completely stressed out! I think the stress or anxiety from work and stuff is turning into physical stuff. I have bad headaches(never did before), my teeth hurt (I think I grind them in the night), have heartburn and ulcer symptoms (including stomach upset…almost always at night…like it wakes me up), my throat almost always feels like I swallowed a marble and sometimes my tongue mysteriously feels ‘forced’ up to the roof of my mouth instead of just laying there like it should, and a lot of different aches and pains. It’s making me miserable…short temper…sleepless nights…can’t concentrate…seems like I’m falling a part. (Family M.D. can’t seem to find anything obvious when I see her and everyone seems to think its the stress)Do stress or anxiety do these things to you? Or is this some wierd jungle disease or something!?!

After The miscarriage in October things kind of went back to normal. In the beginning of this month i’ve been feeling overwhelmed and kind of stressed then all of a sudden i started to feel some pressure on my neck and my face started to tingle. After that when ever I saw anything that was negative I would have this scary feeling that it might happen to me and the pressure on my neck always happens to get on my everlasting nerve. And now when ever I walk I hear a clicking in the base of my head and i have big knots of muscles on my back. And when ever im dozing off to sleep i feel quick blood pressure and as soon as i open back my eyes i feel normal. I try to tell myself nuthin is wrong with me and stress is the reason i have all this and i dont go to the docs until jan.4 but i wanna know now so please help :) n let me know

My mom was hospitalized in January with pneumonia, upon her stay at the hospital she contracted a staph infection. Within a few weeks of leaving the hospital she began having pain all through her body. About a month later when she finally got into the doctor, they ran some tests and discovered that she has rheumatoid arthritis. It just seems strange that she never had symptoms prior to being at the hospital, and now she’s hurting all over every day. I’m afraid that it could’ve been a misdiagnosis, as she is cared for by the VA and they missed my stepdads non hodgekins lymphoma (which thank god was caught at another hospital, thanks to his persistance ) I’m just curious if there are any other conditions that could have been overlooked, or If there are any treatments herbal remedies or anything she can try. I feel so bad for her cause shes active and can’t do things that she wants to do. She also is experiencing anxiety attacks from the stress. Any help would be awesome! Thanks!

So I have bronchitis and I was planning on going to the doctor.
and ive been on break from school for the past 2 weeks. and since then ive had nothing to do except sit at home and lay here and think all these negative thoughts

I used to be active (i was on the swim team for the entire season :D )
and now i havent swam in over a month

I had my first panic attack when nobody was home, and i was FREAKING OUT AND LOSING CONTROL.
and i keep reading and reading and reading, and im seeing a therapist soon
bottom line, i think all this has given me depression and GAD panic attack stuff.
im panicky all day long until i go to sleep (and its hard for me to fall asleep because im basically worrying myself sick)

can these worries lead to something more?
because I have wierd feelings in my left arm that are EXTREMELY exaggerated when im nervous.
my left arm also feels heavy (if i think about it)
now bear with me, i know this sounds crazy
because i believe im going crazy when this happens.
i try to stand and feel all jello-like in my legs and i have to sit down.

sometimes im scared to go in the shower because i had an attack in the shower.
(every place i have anxious feelings about i want to avoid)
this is the most scary thing

i have school on january 5, and when i went to the doctors office i wanted everyone to leave,or me to leave, or just to escape the room. then i went and saw the doctor ad i was very nervous……….>.< AHHH! i just want to SCREAM.
(which i have done ;D )

but…my sister is in a treatment facility and she has been for the past year or so, and all the stress form that has been eating away at me. (maybe thats a big thing)

but are these physical symptoms something more?
because they seem to go away when I dont think about it….i think…..GAHH I DONT KNOW

for the past month i keep imagining myself in an asylum screaming and crying that nobody can help me.
and mom and dad are like "why….why did this have to happen….etc." and my SISTER is already away for massive problems with mentality, and i dont want to be insane.

AM I INSANE?!

(sorry this is so long…..and bless you if you read it all xD)
but i feel crazy rambling, but im trying to explain just how scary this is.

SO! when i went to the store yesterday, i felt trapped and scared
and if im like, going to school, how the HELL am i supposed to feel being away from home, etc.
but i AM going to go.
I HAVE TO.

therapy can help?

please.
any body out there as scared and confused as I am?
i mean…I want my life back
im only 15…..

>.> my heart goes out to anyone who feels this way
and will these feelings pass?
by the way, my sister and i are adopted from different families in Russia, and we dont know anything about our heredity.
were in america now.

Over the past several months I’ve had severe anxiety attacks and my stress is constant. Every time I pass out it’s during a severe anxiety attack and I was wondering, if anxiety can make you go pass out and go into into some sort of shock? I’ve fell down the stairs twice and tonight I passed and fell in the bathtub and after the incident was over my stress went through the roof and I was wondering if anyone thinks stress could be doing this?

Ive had anxiety and panic attacks ever since i was little. Im finally being treated for my panic attacks with "clorazepate" 3.75 mg. (half at bedtime). i movedup to one full one but was making me have crazy dreams and wake up in the middle of the night not remembering what i was doing the next morning.
today i had a mini panic attack for about 30-40 seconds. i was stressing about a math test now and doing homework and i feel a fluttering in my chest. this happened several times. heart palpatations? i also felt like a twitching in my left leg. i dont think this is a side effect of the meds. could this just be stress? or should i get it checked out? i had a friend who recently died of a heart condition a month after having a baby (which stressed her heart) so now i am paranoid. am i over reacting?!?

I am amazed with this connection and believe that all physical symptoms are simply a manifestation of our psychological conditions. I know you’ve heard of stress causing a headache, or anxiety causing knots in stomach, ect. Well I want to know the term for this science, which will enable me to search specific symptoms and thier "psychological meaning". In other words, I have suddenly been having gall bladder symptoms and i want to find out what i might be dealing with psychologically. (I know that the body parts have specific meanings, if you study dream interpretation also.) For example, dreams of the elimination system (using bathroom) may suggest something in the psychological realm we need to let go of.
So what I’m asking for is info from anyone who knows what I’m talking about. Any websites or terms that might aid someone searching for SPECIFIC relationships between body- (nervous system or organ function) and mind connection (mental state).

I have mild to moderate insomnia, occasional anxiety attacks under stress, and mild ADD, as observed by a school-hired therapist (high school), but I am currently only 17 years of age. My mother is considering helping me obtain a medical marijuana license, but I was just wondering if given my symptoms and age, and my legal guardian’s approval, if I can get a recommendation from a physician specializing in medical marijuana prescription.

Hello,

Just wondering who on this site has also dealt with addiction to the nasty things, I.E oxycontin, opium, heroin, vicodine, etc.

I am trying to get off now, am seeing a counseller and am on a program to reduce my doses, but man is it ever hard dealing with the depression and anxiety on top of all the physical symptoms like sweating, cold sweats, insomnia, night terrors when you do sleep, nausea, diarrea, heart palpitations.

Just a note, I’m not a dirt, heh, I’m a professional musician and an IT manager, just went through a peroid of life with extremely high stress and started taking them to deal with it, obviously this was the wrong choice and I developed a physical dependance.

So who else is going through this, what have you done to make things easier on your body and your mind

Sorry for the long story…
The past 3 days I’ve been having really strong B.H. Contractions and they come ins spurts of frequency. I called the hospital as well as my doc and they both told me not to be concerned. I have my next appt. in 5 days. However, I seem to be having a form of anxiety, or even a panic attack with tightness of the chest, rapid heartbeat (like I’m nervous or excited) and this causes another contraction which compounds the discomfort in my body. I am on a semi- bed rest (told to stay off my feet as much as possible) and told not to be doing anything that involves much activity (no housework, cooking, shopping, etc.- especially no sex! grr.)

Whenever I do decide to pick something up off the floor, I get another contraction. It seems everything I do sets them off! I keep telling myself that it’s not something to worry about, but I am so ready for this pregnancy to be over with so I can hold my baby and know she is healthy! I have had a lot of minor complications this time around but I just don’t know how to handle the stress now! I can’t do anything but sit in the chair and play a video game or watch a movie… What can I do to relieve these anxiety attacks or get my mind off the baby? I can’t even enjoy looking at the baby things I have because it triggers anxiety. Help!

Ive been having a lot of stress on me recently, and because of the amount of schoolwork I have, I tend to get only 1-6 hours of sleep each night. I’m diagnosed with clinical depression and there’s a possibility of anxiety. I get panic attacks. Recently, Ive also gotten frequent migraines and occasionally an extreme and random pain near my ribcage. Could these be symptoms of a bigger (probably stress-induced) health problem? or are all these physical aches and pains all just because of sleep deprivation? Advice?

I have been having anxiety attacks lately due to the stress from school. I am studying engineering, and there is really no way I can lighten the work load (the cause of the stress). I really have no time to meditate or exercise because I am always doing homework. Is there any other quick way (besides meds) to help deal with this?
