I am on Zoloft for anxiety disorder. The side effect was at first a decrease in OCD symptoms and depression for two and a half years. When I went from 50mg to 100mg due to depression, the OCD symptoms seem to increase.
After a recent twenty day stay in the hospital due to pneumonia complications, I have returned home and back to my normal schedule. For almost two weeks I was without Zoloft. Though I was sedated for a bit of that time, I was OCD free for about two-three weeks of awake time. I felt free of OCD finally for the first time in twenty years. After a couple weeks of taking the medication again, my mood seems slightly down and my OCD seems to be back again.
My symptoms aren’t life altering, but they are annoying. I understand that after suffering a traumatic experience heightened OCD is normal, but could Zoloft be irritating my condition?
Does anyone know of similar experiences?
Thank you in advance

I’m suspecting I might have be showing some OCD symptoms. I don’t rearrange things or wash my hands repeatedly or anything like that. Recently I learned that some people with OCD don’t act out those rituals. I have extremely UNWANTED morbid thoughts and worries to the extreme. It keeps me from feeling like a normal person….and that’s an understatement.
I also have dealt with anxiety and I just don’t feel like a normal person. On the outside looking into my life, people would think I have it all…but I don’t. My inner self is hurting.
What med combination would help me with severe anxiety, OCD, without sexual side effects? I’ve heard if you add Wellbutrin in the mix, it negates the sexual side effects of the other medications. Is this true?
What has worked for you. I’ve tried quite a few, and I mean quite a few different drugs. I’m thinking of trying Klonipin. Anyone have an experience with that? What is the strongest OCD medicine out there? Not any ole antidepressant will do. TY
