I am 15 years old so I am still growing and going through puberty. About 7 monthes ago I had heart pain which was tested and came up as a simple anxiety/panic attack symptom. Just about a month and a half ago, I noticed a fleshy lump inside of my chest below and to the side of my sternum (not the same side as my heart, though), but above and to the side of my xiphoid process. I recently went to the doctor and he felt the lump and reassured me, saying that it definately didn’t feel like a lipoma or cancer, and it would be a very unusual spot for a cancerous growth to be, anyway. My doctor believes that it is a costochondral junction inflammtion. But when I went home I ressearched it, and I learned that it is supposed to be painful. What I have is completely painless… Is it possible for me to have this and it still be painless? Also, I often have a painless clicking/popping sound/sensation in that area if I lay on it a certain way or push on it. The lump is softer than bone and feels more like flexed muscle. It is not movable, but when I lean back and suck in my stomache, it either moves in or turns flat/soft (can’t tell which, but its very different).
