I’ve been on zoloft for 10m now and I am starting to feel Depression and anxiety again. Why and What?
I have been on zoloft for 10 months now and lately I have been feeling depressed. Just feelings of sadness and my anxiety has come back some along with some dizziness. Feeling frozen and tightness in my chest are back again. They have recently raised my dose from 50mg to 75mg. What is causing this to occur and what do i need to do to feel better? Has this ever happened to you while on Zoloft?
Thank you!

it happened to me on paxil, and zoloft and paxil work in exactly the same way. i believe is was just tolerance, because the presence of any drug in an individuals’ body will cause the body to adjust to the presence of the drug. sometimes switching to a different group of medications, like MAOIs, or SNRIs can help. i have had lots of trouble because i have OCD, depression, and very bad social anxiety, and i am trying to find the right medicine also.
Medications won’t treat the root cause of your anxiety and depression. You might like to check out some natural cures for anxiety and depression.

When a person starts using more cocaine for the same effect they once got from less, they are called a drug addict. What you need to do is learn to manage your temperament without mind-altering drugs. Give Jesus a chance. God bless.
I’m on Prozac & sometimes have the same type of feels as you are describing. I read once that anti-depressants are designed to help with depression/anxiety… not cure it. You can’t depend on the medicine alone to help your state of mind.
Avoid "triggers" that you know can cause anxiety. Be sure to eat healthy, exercise & get enough sleep.
Doctors put me on Zoloft before.
Ask yourself. What is making me depressed. LIFE. Can I change what is making me depressed? Can you change your life?
Don’t blame the medication for being unhappy.
Medication can only do so much.
Then I wonder if it actually does anything at all. Or if it just helps because you think it does.
What is making you depressed? Can I change this? Happiness is a choice. You have to decide to be happy. Maybe those pills really do help you. But I don’t think unhappiness is a chemical imbalance. I think it is a way of life. A perspective on life. An attitude towards life.
A Choice.
