On a break…he has ANXIETY ATTACKS.. im worried?
K background info: hes 23 imm 20. We went on a break because of his busy schedule. He coaches two soccer teams and goes to college. To top it off hes stressed with school, soccer, his parents always on his back. I didnt believe this was the reason 4 the break. Well recently he told me he thought he was having a heart attack one night and they rushed him to the hospital and there they told him it was due to stress and anxiety, it was all mental… He said he had another episode like that again where he said he was convinced he had cancer or something, and his heart would hurt, hed get light headed… he researched anxiety attacks online and said he had most symptoms and was going to do to the doctors last thursday to see..
My question is could I send him a message asking how hes doing? I don’t want to keep sending him messages (i did this the first few weeks of the break) But im worried about him and want to know how hes doing.. Would it be alright? what would you say in the message

Yes, he needs friends, anxiety is scary, and even embarrassing to those inflicted. Let him know he is not alone.
Absolutely send him a message. Just tell him you support him and are confident he will overcome his anxiety. He could use some kind words right now.
Yeah, just tell him that you hope he is ok and ask if there is anything you can do for him.
Even though you are on a break, you should call him. Forget the texts they are so impersonal. He had a severe panic attack and you want to text him? Call him with no intentions of getting together. Ask him how he is doing? Ask if he needs any help with anything? Tell him that you hope he gets better soon.
Firstly, his attack was not ‘all mental’, it was an emotional response to events, causing real symptoms. Secondly it’s not an anxiety attack, rather a panic attack from ongoing stress and anxiety. Thirdly, yes send a message but DON"T mention anxiety / stress / panic / etc. , just a simple " how’s it going, missing you, hope you’re doing o.k. " generalized type thing. Good luck panic/ anxiety disorders ARE treatable.
