Is there a medication/ treatment for anxiety and depression that does not have sexual side effects?

Lexapro, works wonderful for the anxiety and depression but my husband and I can’t deal with the sexual side effects. It’s not lack of desire it’s not being able to get off and my husband is doing everything right it’s just not happening!!!!!

Not a single one! I find the one with the LEAST side effects, sexually, is Effexor. But, different people have different side effects. Also, that side effect lessens with time. Give it 3 to 6 months and that WILL eventually go away.
Ask someone if they are willing to spend some time with you and just listen to how you feel for a set length of time; say an hour. Just talk about your feelings and let yourself cry if you need to (and you do) If you can do this often enough, (with different people, don’t lay it all on one person!) you will gradually relieve your depression and anxiety. I think if you felt loved and supported you wouldn’t have the sexual problem. But being on the pills is kind of anaesthetic, so you don’t feel the good feelings either! When you ask your friend to listen to you, tell her (or him) that when the time is nearly up, to ask you about some good memories you have, so that you are not left deep in the distressing feelings. Do this each time. In fact it’s good to do it everytime, before you start on the bad feelings too. Drugs don’t do anything to cure you. They just suppress the feelings for a while, which then come back at you in some way, either through a nervous "breakdown" or a physical illness or abusing your children. (because they are the least threatening).
I’ve had an anxiety disorder for a while as well, and I deal with it without prescription drugs.
Basically, to deal with my panic attacks and general anxiety I will do one of 3 things.I
1. If possible, I will take some time to sit alone and meditate, it really helps to clear your mind. I cannot suggest this technique more – it takes a while to get to the point where you can meditate easily, but it works better than any medication I’ve ever taken.
2. Write/Talk out my fears at that time. I will write down or say out loud what is causing my anxiety, and the more I read or say them, the stupider they seem.
3. Talk to someone about it. In the past I used to talk to my therapist about my issues, and it did really help, but now that I don’t have health insurance, I talk to my girlfriend about it, and it really helps me out.
I hope these techniques can help you, they really help me.
I really dislike prescriptions and medications in general, I believe they cause more problems than they fix.
